Cee is a visual artist based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, working primarily in oil and acrylic painting. Inspired by the forests, shores, and skies of the Pacific Northwest, her work explores ecological interconnectedness and humanity's relationship with the natural world.

Her connection to the coastal forests informs her artistic practice, drawing her attention to the intricate relationships between living organisms and the environments they inhabit. Through a combination of representational and surreal imagery, she explores themes of ecological health, reciprocity, and belonging.

Cee is currently pursuing certificates in Painting and Fine Art through Emily Carr University of Art + Design.

Artist Statement

My paintings explore ecological interconnectedness and the possibility of a more reciprocal relationship between humanity and the natural world.

Drawing inspiration from the coastal forests of British Columbia, I combine representational and surreal imagery to investigate how humans might belong within nature rather than exist apart from or above it.

Through atmospheric layers, organic forms, and imagined relationships between human and non-human life, I explore themes of ecological health, vulnerability, mutual care, and belonging. The often-overlooked inhabitants of the forest floor—mosses, fungi, insects, and other small organisms—offer a way to consider the intricate relationships that sustain life.

My practice is rooted in an eco-humanist perspective, imagining a world in which humanity recognizes its place within nature's reciprocal web of care.
